The Wansbeck Young Peoples Forum consists of young people between the ages of 12 and 17 years of age, who get together every Friday evening.

The Forum is based on Station Road, Ashington at the the new J & J training centre.

The aim of the Forum is to act as a representative voice for all young people who reside within the 16 wards of the Wansbeck District.The Forum undertake various activities that look at and research issues that affect the lives of local young people.

One of the Forums roles is to strengthen community cohesion by creating activities that will not only benefit the development of young people, but will also benefit the local community in which they live.

The development of the young people in the Forum is an important factor as they are informal advisors to other young people - sometimes young people would rather talk to another young person instead of an adult.
